Jesus Is Our Propitiation.

“This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” – I John 4:10

The word “propitiation” is a fancy word used interchangeably with the word “sacrifice.” Truly Jesus is the embodiment of sacrificial love. “He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the sins of he whole world.” (1 John 2:2) “This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.” – I John 4:10,11

The incredible sacrifice of Jesus for our sin should cause us not only to want to know Him better, but to also share what He has done with others, as we spread His love to the world around us. Jesus is amazing! “Whom God put forward as a propitiation by His blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in His divine forbearance He had passed over former sins. It was to show His righteousness at the present time, so that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.” (Romans 3:25,26)
