“God has not called me to be successful; He has called me to be faithful.” – Mother Teresa (*quote, not Scripture)
All parts of the Trinity are faithful – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. “God is faithful, Who has called you into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” (1 Corinthians 1:9) “Jesus is faithful to God, Who appointed Him, in the same way that Moses was faithful when he served in God’s house.” (Hebrews 3:2)
We are also to follow the example set by Jesus, being faithful in serving the Lord, and faithful to others, being there when we are needed, and doing what we’ve said we will do – having integrity. “So I sat, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you wot be doing what your sinful nature craves.” (Galatians 5:16)
We are to always be faithful to the truth of God’s Word, even if that means sacrificing our very lives for it. “Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor’s crown.” (Revelation 2:10b) “…Well done, good and faithful servant!” (Matthew 25:21a) Let this be what we are told when we leave this earth and enter the Lord’s kingdom.
