“It’s simple things, like a glowing sunset, the sound of a running stream or the fresh smell in a meadow that cause us to pause and marvel at the wonder of life, to contemplate its meaning and significance. Who can hold an autumn leaf in their hand, or sift the warm white sand on the beach, and not wonder at the Creator of it all?” – Wendy Moore (*quote, not Scripture)
When we look around us at God’s amazing creation, we can’t help but appreciate its beauty and detail. Jesus, the same part of the Trinity Who took on a human form in order to sacrifice for our sins, was with His Father God in the beginning, when the creation of everything took place. He was directly involved in the process, creating those He would later save.
Paul tells us in his letter to the church at Ephesus that this is why he preached to others, that they might also know this amazing, loving God. “To me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; and to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world has been hid in God, Who created all things by Jesus Christ.”) Ephesians 3:8-9 As we admire His creation, let us also admire our Creator even more so!
