Jesus Is Our Partner.

“Look how grace defines us. Ephesians 2:4-9 tells us we are:

• spiritually alive: ‘He gave us life’

• heavenly positioned: ‘seated with Him in the heavenly realms’

• connected to God: ‘one with Christ Jesus’

• billboards of mercy: ‘examples of the incredible wealth of His favor and kindness towards us’

• honored children: ‘God saved you by His special favor.’ ”

– Max Lucado (*quote, not Scripture)

Jesus is Emmanuel, or “God with us.” He is our partner on our journey through this life, walking with us each step of the way, and guiding us where He wants us to go.

He doesn’t promise to always make our lives easy – in fact, His tough love can hurt! We can find comfort in His healing mercies and unending love. “Come, let us return to the Lord. He had torn us to pieces, but He will heal us; He has injured us, but He will bind up our wounds.” (Hosea 6:1) “He has saved us and called us into a holy life — not because of anything we have done, but because of His own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, Who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.” (2 Timothy 1:9,10)

“May the Lord our God be with us as He was with our ancestors; may He never leave us not forsake us.” (1 Kings 8:57)
