Jesus Is My Treasure.

“Where your pleasure is, there is your treasure, there is your heart; where your heart, there your happiness.” – St. Augustine (*quote, not Scripture)

As Christ-followers, our main focus should be on Jesus, and our relationship with Him should be truly treasured. Many times in the Bible, we are reminded that what we treasure most in life shows where our heart really is. “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:21) “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Luke 12:34)

We are to prioritize our lives rightly, in order to honor God with all of our hearts. “Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willingness to share. In this way they  lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.” (1 Timothy 6:18-19) “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.” (Matthew 6:19-20)

Eternal life wth Jesus should be that which we treasure most, for it brings true satisfaction. “The poor will eat and be satisfied. All who seek the Lord will praise Him. Their hearts will rejoice with everlasting joy.” (Psalm 22:26)
