“We have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God.” – II Corinthians 4:7
The Lord is the top Counselor of all – the One to Whom all others must bow. “For Who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been His counselor?” (Romans 11:34) Mere mortals have nothing on the intelligence, wisdom, and understanding of the Lord. “Who has measured the Spirit of the Lord, or what man shows Him his counsel?” (Isaiah 40:13) We can’t even begin to understand the greatness of our awesome God.
“For to us a child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His Name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6)
When Jesus ascended into heaven, He left the Holy Spirit to guide and direct us; so that we may know the will of God. “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have told you.” (John 14:26) “To God belong wisdom and power; counsel and understanding are His.” (Job 12:13)
The Lord wants us to also seek other wise counsellors. “Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.” (Proverbs 15:22)
