Jesus Is The Lord Of Glory

“Hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory.” – James 2:1

God’s glory is so incredible and powerful that mankind here on earth cannot come directly into contact with it. “When Solomon finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the Lord filled the temple. The priests could not enter the temple of the Lord because the glory of the Lord filled it.” (2 Chronicles 6:1-2)

We are to bring worship to the Lord, because of the greatness of His glory. “Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name; being an offering and come into His courts.” (Psalm 96:8)

Not everyone recognized Jesus for Who He truly was and is and is to come. “None of the rulers of this age understood it, for is they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” (1 Corinthians 2:8)

The Lord’s glory is truly awe-inspiring. “An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.” (Luke 2:9)

We don’t need to be afraid of the Lord’s glory, however, because He is at work in and through us. “And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into His image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, Who is the Spirit.” (2 Corinthians 3:18)
