Jesus Is God’s Only Son.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16

We can begin to understand the incredible love God has for us when we realize that He sacrificed His one and only Son for us, to pay the hefty price for our sin. “This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him.” (1 John 4:9)

The Old Testament story of Abraham and Isaac showed us an earthly example of our heavenly Father’s sacrifice. In this case, God spared the life of Isaac, but He wanted Abraham to show his willingness to do what God asked of him. “Then, God said, ‘Take your son, your only son, whom you love — Isaac — and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.’ ” (Genesis 22:2)

Jesus is both God’s Son and one with the Father. “No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, Who is Himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made Him known.” (John 1:18)

Belief in Jesus as the Son of God is vital to our salvation. “Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the Name of God’s one and only Son.” (John 3:18)
