“May the Lord of peace Himself give you peace at all times in every way.” – II Thessalonians 3:16
God’s people temporarily had the Tabernacle, then the Temple, to physically hold His presence among them in a visual reminder that He was always in their midst. From before time began, He had a plan in place to send justification in His one and only Son, Jesus, in a human body, for all to see. “I will make a covenant of peace with them; it will be an everlasting covenant. I will establish them and increase their numbers, and I will put My sanctuary among them forever.” (Ezekiel 37:26) ” ‘Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet My unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor My covenant of peace be removed,’ says the Lord, Who has compassion on you.” (Isaiah 54:10)
The peace promised by God and found in Jesus Christ is so different than the emptiness that comes by believing the false promises of the enemies of God. “All your allies will turn against you. They will help to chase you from your land. They will promise you peace while plotting to deceive and destroy you.” (Obadiah 1:7a,b) Let us be sure to only put our truth in the peace promised by God and found in Jesus Christ – it’s the only lasting peace.
