Jesus Is The Captain Of The Lord’s Army.

” ‘As captain of the host of the Lord am I now come.’ And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship.” – Joshua 5:14

Jesus is the captain of the Lord’s army, the Commander-In-Chief of us all. Jesus Christis even over all of the angels – the heavenly host. When He comes back to earth to rule and reign, He will bring His heavenly army with Him. “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, He will sit on His glorious throne.” (Matthew 25:31)

He fights against evil on our behalf, and we know He will triumph. He also reigns in our hearts as our Captain and King. “For it became Him, for Whom are all things, and by Whom are all things, in bringing many sons into glory, to make the Captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.” (Hebrews 2:10)

We should respond to this amazing love as Joshua did in the featured verse – fall on our faces in worship. What a truly mighty God we serve Who fights for us and defends, while also guiding us as we fight our battles with temptation and evil!
