Jesus Is The Bread Of Life.

“For God so loved the world that He gave –

His Word so that we might know truth…

A Gate so that we might enter His kingdom…

The Light of the World so that we…

no longer walk in darkness and despair…

The Bread of Life to feed our hungry souls.

– Unknown (*quote, loosely taken from Scripture)

Jesus came to satisfy our spiritual needs, much like bread can satisfy our physical hunger. “Then Jesus declared, ‘I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to Me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in Me will never be thirsty.’ ” (John 6:35) “For the bread of God is the bread that comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” (John 6:33)

Jesus explains the analogy a little more clearly, referencing acceptance of His sacrifice and the taking of Communion. “I am the living bread that came down from Heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is My flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.” (John 6:51) “And when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, ‘This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me.’ In the same way, after supper He took the cup, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of Me. For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.” (1 Corinthians 11:26)
