Jesus Is The Carrier Of Our Burdens.

“Come to Me…and I will give you rest. My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” – Matthew 11:28,30

First and foremost, Jesus carried the incredible weight of all our sin on Himself at the cross. “He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By His wounds you have been healed.” (1 Peter 2:24)

In His incredible mercy and grace, He also takes the burdens of our sorrow, pain, etc. on Himself, as we seek Him in prayer and cry out to Him for help. “Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, Who daily bears our burdens.” (Psalm 68:19)

He also sets us free from the burdens others force upon us. “For as in the day of Midian’s defeat, You have shattered the yoke that burdens them, the bar across their shoulders, the rod of their oppressor.” (Isaiah 9:4) “I will take you as My own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the Lord Your God, Who brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians.” (Exodus 6:7)

Since we can always take our burdens to the Lord, we are instructed to also assist one another with the burdens we face. “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” (Galatians 6:2) “Therefore, confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.” (James 5:16a)
