“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.” – John 15:1
Since Jesus is the vine, if we stay connected to Him, we will produce good fruit. Without Him, we cannot do anything truly noble. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in Me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5)
When we seek God’s face, we will be blessed beyond measure, especially in the eternal life that follows life on earth. “They shall return and dwell beneath My shadow; they shall flourish like the grain; they shall blossom like the vine; their fame shall be like the wine of Lebanon.” (Hosea 14:7) Staying firm in our relationship with Jesus Christ allows us to bear the evidence of His work in our lives through our words and deeds.
When we are strong in our faith (through His gracious work in our hearts), we proclaim His name. We shout of His glory from the rooftops. Others can rejoice with us because they see Him reflected as we live our lives. “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.” (Matthew 5:14) Don’t hide your l right! Let it shine for all to see God’s glory!
