“I am the Light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” – John 8:12
This journal I’m using has several recurring themes. “Jesus is the light” is definitely something that I’ve written on here before! I suppose, as with other themes in the Bible, the recurrence of this one (yes, it’s also mentioned many times in Scripture itself!) means it’s important.
Let us remember how important it is to believe in Jesus sooner, rather than later. If you’re feeling the call of God in your spirit, don’t delay – we never know how much time we have left on this earth. “Believe in the Light while you have the Light, so that you may become children of light.” (John 12:36a) Once you have truly put your trust in Jesus alone for salvation, repented of your sins, and received the Holy Spirit, you will no longer walk in darkness. “If then your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, it will be wholly bright, as when a lamp with its rays gives you light.” (Luke 11:36)
Once we have the Light of Christ, we are a testimony to His mercy and grace that points others to Him. “Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)
