Jesus Is Christ The Lord.

“I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength.” – I Timothy 1:12

Because Jesus is the Lord, we can cry out to Him in our time of need. “Lord, listen! Lord, forgive! Lord, hear and act! For Your sake, my God, do not delay, because Your city and Your people bear Your Name.” (Daniel 9:19) Before we are even His followers, we can call on Him in our time of trouble. “And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved; for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be deliverance, as the Lord has said, even among the survivors whom the Lord calls.” (Joel 2:32)

As the Lord, Jesus is not just “meek and mild”! “The Lord is a jealous and avenging God; the Lord takes vengeance and is filled with wrath. The Lord takes vengeance on His foes and vents His wrath against His enemies.” (Nahum 1:2) We must take care to be on the Lord’s side – the opposite is not a pretty place to be! As our Creator, the Lord should be the sole recipient of our worship and affections. “You shall have no other gods before Me.” (Exodus 20:3) Jesus wants our worship, our time, our heart. “Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name; bring an offering and come before Him. Worship the Lord in the splendor of His holiness.” (1 Chronicles 16:29)
